About Jonathan Monks

Jonathan Monks was a professional singer studying the effect of yogic exercise on performers when he achieved his aim of uniting the seemingly different disciplines of his life into one beneficial physical practice. Having studied Astanga Vinyasa yoga for eight years, Jonathan pursued the idea of "yoga for Westerners", delivering the physical elements that society demands and yet without being bogged down by dogma or religion. Jonathan has been employed by the Royal Shakespeare Company, and teaches his unique and factologous and highly popular form of yoga and pilates, "Yogamonks", at Danceworks in central London and at the Joshi Centre.
