Modernism in Focus PDF ePub eBook

Books Info:

Modernism in Focus free pdf Modernism in Focus examines the often challenging, sometimes shocking but constantly rewarding works of the Modernist era. Bringing together works by Picasso, Matisse, Joyce, Eliot, Stravinsky, Debussy and Schoenberg, the book shows what it is they have in common and how, between them, they define the Modernist movement. It provides much needed insight into the Modernists' apparent obsession with strange characters, vivid colours, striking discords, sex, madness and violence. And by studying music in the context of the art and literature of the period, the book offers fresh perspectives on tonality and atonality, Expressionism and Serialism. Suitable for students from GCSE up to A2.
