Jo-Jo Tabayoyong Murphy was born in the Philippines, but has spent most of her life in the United States. She has benefited from the rich cultural heritage of her family. Her dream has always been to share the experience of growing up in a foreign land that eventually became home. Jo-Jo lives in Illinois with her husband, Steve. Their daughter, Aubrey, has blended the best of her Filipino mom and Irish-American dad. American Stew on Rice is Jo-Jo's first collection of short stories and poems.
