She has produced a wide variety of history books, covering such topics as the Normans and Samurai warriors, and various titles in The Osprey Essential Histories Collection. She studied medieval law and history at Salamanca University in Spain, one of the oldest universities in the world. She has specialist knowledge of medieval military history and tactics. She lives in Wiltshire, UK.
