Mr. Darcy's Pledge free pdf Torn between his heart and his mind... Mr. Darcy must make a choice. Fitzwilliam Darcy has always been able to keep his emotions under control. That is, until he falls under the spell of Elizabeth Bennet and surprises himself by blurting out a proposal to her like a moonstruck youth. Stung to the quick by her rejection, his pride in tatters, and left with no possibility that she will ever return his regard, Darcy determines to put all thoughts of Elizabeth behind him. But not even Town with its boundless opportunities for amusement can keep the image of Elizabeth Bennet from pursuing him everywhere he goes. By the time Darcy leaves Town to travel up to Pemberley, he has learned one thing. There is only one way of overcoming Miss Bennet's bewitching hold over him and Darcy is desperate enough to try it. The solution is to get married. And this time, he is not going to choose a wife by allowing his emotions to lead him by the nose. His choice will be entirely rational... In Volume I of this "Pride and Prejudice" variation, Monica Fairview traces Mr. Darcy's journey as he struggles to come to terms with the upheaval Elizabeth Bennet has caused in his life...and his heart. Praise for Monica Fairview "I am quite enchanted with these delightful sequels by Monica Fairview!... I greatly enjoyed Ms. Fairview's new hero, Mr. Gately, who, with his honorable behavior, quick perception, and penchant for lecturing Georgiana, reminded me a lot of Mr. Knightley from "Emma." Ms. Fairview is very proficient in creating romantic, attractive, and Austen-worthy heroes!" Austenesque Reviews "Many beloved characters from P

About Monica Fairview

Monica's love of things Regency started when she first read "Pride and Prejudice" at thirteen. Immediately afterwards, she went through a reading binge of Jane Austen's novels then discovered Georgette Heyer as well. All good things must come to an end, however, and, as a literature professor, her early interest in Jane Austen was taken over by other writers, though she took to reading Regency romances as her guilty pleasure whenever she got a chance. Then, in 2005, three things happened. Monica moved to England from the USA, saw the new "Pride and Prejudice" film adaptation with Matthew Macfadyen, and decided it was time she began to write. Not surprisingly, she turned to the Regency period for inspiration. Her first novel, AN IMPROPER SUITOR, a humorous Regency, was published by the long-established independent press, Robert Hale, and was a runner-up for the Joan Hessayon New Writers award from the Romantic Novelists' Association. Two more novels followed quickly after that: THE OTHER MR. DARCY, which was a Desert Island Best Pick for 2009 from All About Romance, and THE DARCY COUSINS, both published by Robert Hale in England and Sourcebooks in the USA. Monica likes to look at things from unusual perspectives. THE OTHER MR. DARCY is a response to the negative portrayal of Miss Bingley. It looks at what makes Miss Bingley tick and introduces the charming Robert Darcy, Darcy's American cousin from Boston. It reached no. 1 on the Kindle Bestselling list under the category of Regency. THE DARCY COUSINS takes a close look at Georgiana Darcy's development as she interacts with her brash American cousin Clarissa. Monica's next novel, STEAMPUNK DARCY, takes JA spin-offs in an entirely different direction. It reached no. 4 on the Kindle Bestselling list under the category of Steampunk. Set in a pseudo-Victorian future, it is a post-apocalyptic novel featuring a descendent of William Darcy and a comic play on the characters of "Pride and Prejudice." Monica is a member of the blog "Austen Variations" along with eighteen other authors who also write Jane Austen adaptations. She is a member of the team writing the popular Reader's Choice serial THE DARCY BROTHERS featuring the charismatic Theo Darcy. MR. DARCY'S PLEDGE, is her most traditional "Pride and Prejudice" variation to date. Monica lives in Surrey within the Greater London area and loves visiting historical properties when it isn't raining.
