About John Hawkesby

Auckland-born former broadcaster John Hawkesby has lived on Waiheke Island since 2001. The father of three and grandfather of eleven splits his time between freelance writing for a variety of publications, emceeing events, making after dinner speeches and trying to expand his limited culinary experience. John has authored two previous books, Save The Last Dance For Me (1997) and Vintage: A Wine Journey (2006). Freelance photographer Duncan Innes grew up in Auckland with brief stints in Thames and Tanzania. He taught himself photography while living in Barcelona and London. After travelling the world he settled in Ponsonby, Auckland, with his wife, Nicola, and daughter, Eva. He shoots for various national publications and enjoys travelling the country meeting interesting and inspiring people. His first book project was Food Heroes (2012) by Simon Farrell-Green.
