Public worship, conducted with reverence and stillness. No disorders allowed. Inquiry meeting held every Sabbath. If in city or village, prayer-meeting or a lecture every week. If in country, then preach on plantations. Never without due notice and permission. Frequency of these meetings. Mode of conducting them. See the members of the church. Collect and catechize the children and youth. Converse with those who may be under serious impressions. If possible, have white family present. In his work the minister should avail himself of suitable helpers. Elders, deacons, prominent members of his white charge, Sabbath school teachers. Coloured helpers - propriety of them. Question briefly considered. Appointed by and with consent of the church- and the best selection made, and a careful supervision exercised over them. Their duties. Minister should have some special meetings for his coloured charge. Meetings for watchmen, or coloured helpers -for members of the church. Days of fasting and prayer. The minister should be careful and prudent in receiving members into the church. Manner in which candidates should be instructed - the time they should be continued under instruction-hasty admissions to be avoided - to be treated kindly - final examination properly conducted - baptized and received, when and where. Members excommunicated from other churches to be received with great caution. The negroes should be guarded against sectarianism. The difficult duty of discipline faithfully attended to. Their marriage ceremonies performed, the sick visited, and the dead buried- Ministerial Labour - Teaching. - Attention directed to the rising generation. Children of coloured members regularly presented for baptism. Their owners uniting in the duty. Baptisms registered. When of suitable age, to be brought under pastoral instruction, in the church, at suitable intervals of time, and before the assembled church and congregation. Establish Sabbath schools for them. How such schools are to be gotten up - organized - and conducted, and what should be, generally, the order of exercises. The time of the day for holding the schools, and how long should they be kept in? Strict order should be preserved. The schools should be frequently visited by the pastor, and sometimes publicly examined and instructed. The pastor should have Sabbath schools established in destitute neighbourhoods: an example.
