Books Info:

Lecture Notes free pdf Cancer is one of the greatest causes of death in the Western world. Cancer studies are, therefore, an increasingly important part of the medical student curriculum. The principles of each disease, their presentation, investigation, treatment, management and prognosis should be familiar to all doctors and so students are being taught these key areas during their time at medical school. However, many medical schools do not provide a separate course in oncology and students often come across different diseases during part of other clinical attachments and as part of problem-based or systems-based courses. This concise, but comprehensive, text covers the common oncological diseases and their treatment and management, and is aimed specifically at medical students. The subject is divided into three main sections. The first covers introductory aspects such as general cancer epidemiology, causes, and the principles of treatment. Section Two describes the common cancers, their epidemiology, molecular biology presentation, investigation, treatment and prognosis. Finally the last section covers the side effects of treatment and terminal care.
