About Andrew McKinlay

Andrew McKinlay is Head of Philosophy, Psychology andLanguage Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. He has publishedresearch on issues of identity, identity management, and thediscursive challenges of 'problem' identities in a wide variety ofacademic journals.

Chris McVittie is Senior Lecturer in Social Psychologyand Qualitative Methods at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Hehas published widely on topics related to the social psychology ofcommunication and the study of identities.

McKinlay and McVittie are co-authors of Social Psychology andDiscourse (Wiley-Blackwell, 2008).
