About Paul Gladston

Stephanie Rosenthal is Chief Curator at the Hayward Gallery, London. Paul Gladston is Associate Professor of Critical Theory and Visual Culture in the Department of Culture, Film and Media at the University of Nottingham. Pauline Yao is an independent curator and scholar specialising in contemporary Asian art and was the inaugural recipient of the Contemporary Chinese Art Critic Award in 2007. Colin Chinnery is an artist and curator based in Beijing. He is currently Director for ShContemporary Art Fair in Shanghai. Karen Smith is a curator and critic, based in Beijing since 1992. Author of Nine Lives: The Birth of Avant-Garde in New China (2006), she has curated numerous exhibitions of Chinese art, including The Chinese at Kunstmuseum Wolfsberg, Germany (2004) and Subtlety at Platform China, Beijing (2008). Zhu Zhu is a curator and critic, based in Beijing, China. Philip Tinari is editor-in-chief of the Beijing-based art magazine LEAP. Carol Lu is curator and contributing editor for Frieze, Art Asia Pacific and Tema Celeste. Katie Hill is Director of the Office of Contemporary Chinese Art and guest co-editor for the Journal of Visual Art Practice.
