Books Info:

The Ouroboros and the Butterfly free pdf Drawing from the ancient creation myth, The Ouroboros and the Butterfly is a journey through time and memory stretching from the open roads of the 1960s to the California Supreme Court in the 2000s. Through her memories of food, cooking, relationships, love, and loss, Cyndi Flowers takes us around the world from Cannery Row, to Colombo, Sri Lanka, to Greece, to England, and back to California. In the process, she shares her world, peopled with musicians, actors, athletes, miscreants, marine biologists, teachers, and lawyers. As she moves through time, and around the world, Cyndi shares the recipes she discovered over the course of a lifetime. These recipes range from impoverished sustenance through exotic elegance, and include many dishes from cuisines as diverse as Croatian, Moroccan, South American, Indian, Chinese, Greek, American, and English. As does the Persian Phoenix, the Fenghuang of China, and the Egyptian Benu, the ancient symbol of the Ouroboros represents the cyclical renewal of life and infinity, and the end, and beginning, of time. The Ouroboros and the Butterfly is the story of an era and, ultimately, a story of rebirth and renewal.
