How they face their day to day struggles together for survival and with only their wits and their faith in each other to support them is what awaits the reader in this saga of adventure set on the Oregon Trail in the 1800's.

D. Leo Lund lives on the Oregon Trail in Oregon at the present time. He was born in Auburn, Washington, USA in 1948. He lived on a goat farm in the foothills of Mt. Rainier in the Cascade Mtn. foothills in a house with no indoor plumbing, no commercial electricity, on a one lane gravel road until he started the first grade. He never lived in a house with indoor plumbing until he was 14 years old. He understands the rigors of hardship and doing without, he has lived it. In his books he writes about it as someone who has been there and survived. He now shares these feelings with you, the reader.
