Valerio Ferme is Professor of Italian and Comparative Literature at the University of Colorado, USA. Among his recent publications are a co-edited volume, From Otium and Occupatio to Work and Labor in Italian Culture, a co-authored book, Italy and the Mediterranean: Words, Sounds, and Images of the Post-Cold War Era, and the co-edited translation of Italian philosopher and sociologist Franco Cassano's Southern Thought and Other Essays on the Mediterranean.
