About Mark S. Wallace

Mark S. Wallace, MD, is Professor of anaesthesiology at the University of California, San Diego. He has obtained a degree in pain management and has been awarded the Robert D. Dripps, MD and Memorial Award for Outstanding Anaesthesiology Resident and the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching, both at the University of Maryland. Apart from developing human experimental pain models to evaluate drug analgesic efficacy in phase I trails, his research interests include evaluating the effects of inhaled cannabis on painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy and heads two clinical trials evaluating new delivery methods for the opioids for breakthrough cancer pain.
