About Manasi Subramaniam

Manasi Subramaniam is a writer based in Chennai and is the editor at Karadi Tales. She is an MA in Literature and a former recipient of the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association short fiction prize for Asia. She reads incessantly and is always on the look-out for powerful, authentic stories. She has written for Karadi Tales and other publications. Travelling is her first love.Ayswarya Sankaranarayanan studied Visual Communication from PSG College of Arts, Coimbatore and Animation Film Design at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad. As a student of animation, she made a hand-drawn animation film based on the folk-tale 'A Story and a Song'. Her areas of interest include writing short-stories and small graphic novels for children and studying Indian aesthetics, Film theory and Art history in general. She has co-written the screenplay of the feature film 'Nainsukh' (2010), based on the 18th century Pahari Master painter of the same name. She is currently involved in making a children's book based on a set of Pahari miniatures of the 18th century narrating the story of Nala and Damayanti and also working on a series of articles on Cinema.
