The series contains a range of poetic forms and styles and includes significant classical and modern poems and poets many of whom are from other cultures. In addition to both humorous and serious poems the collection includes a number of classical poems and many poems published for the first time in this collection. Each book is illustrated and the poems cover NC/NLS and 5-14 requirements. Accompanying Teacher's Notes give advice on how to teach poetry in the classroom with particular reference to Shared Reading and Shared Writing in the Literacy Hour.
