December 23, 1862. A letter was received from Companion Richard Bloss, of Troy, asking if some arrangement could be made for a room for the use of the Grand Council of the State on one or two evenings the first week in February next, during the convocation of the Grand Chapter. 1863. January 27. A letter was received from Right Illustrious John J. Platt, Acting Grand Master, dated at Lyons, N. Y., calling attention to the Annual Assembly of the Grand Council and making suggestions regarding the arrangements. March 27. A letter was received by Thrice Illustrious Master Edward H. Jones from Companion Richard Bloss of Troy, stating that he understood De Witt Clinton Council had not done any work since its first organization and that he would be pleased to come to the city with enough Companions from Bloss Council to confer the degrees and visit the Council. First Ceremonial. On the evening of April 24th, De Witt Clinton Council was opened in due form by Right Illustrious Richard Bloss, Deputy Grand Master, with the following Companions as officers protem. Levi H.Button, Deputy Master- Charles Teson, Principal Conductor of the Work- William Kemp, Recorder- William M. Strong, Treasurer- Alexander B. King, Captain of the Guard- Stephen Dutcher, Conductor of the Council- A. Brown, Marshal- J. H. Coles, Steward.
