Journey through Burma in 1936 free pdf HRH Prince Damrong Rajanubhab was born in the Grand Palace in Bangkok in 1862, the 57th son of King Mongkut. He was extremely able and served his brother, King Chulalongkorn, in Europe from 1891-1892. From 1892-1915, he was Minister of Interior and later, between 1915-1932 he was Chairman of the Capital Library. Between 1933 and 1942, he lived in Penang, following the constitutional changes in Thailand. In 1936, Prince Damrong made his second trip to Burma. His experience as a scholar and man of letters gave him a particular insight into that country's art, architecture, customs and traditions. This account also reviews the relationship between Thailand and Burma over the centuries.
