About Linda Peterson

Linda Peterson (Ph.D., Brown University) was Professor of English at Yale University and was published widely on nonfiction prose, notably life-writing and women's authorship. She co-directed the Bass Writing Program at Yale for twenty-five years and served as president of the Council of Writing Program Administrators. John Brereton (Ph.D., Rutgers University) is a Professor of English, Emeritus, at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Previously he served as Executive Director of the Calderwood Writing Initiative at the Boston Athenaeum. He has taught writing at Harvard University, Wayne State University, Brandeis University, and the City University of New York. His scholarship focuses on the history of teaching English literature and composition. Joseph Bizup (Ph.D., Indiana University) is an Associate Professor of English and Director of the College of Arts
